MilliCare Sustainability
Nearly 80% of American businesses use sustainable materials. What these businesses may not know, however, is that the maintenance of these materials has a far greater impact on the environment than the materials themselves.
The concept that sustainable carpet maintenance means prolonging the life of your assets, limiting your impact on the environment and valuing your employees and customers is the foundation of the MilliCare business. Millicare’s eco-friendly carpet cleaning approach was designed with both you and the environment in mind.
At Millicare, Sustainable Carpet Cleaning Practices Are Not A Fad
From the time we began in 1984, MilliCare has focused on serving our customers and growing our business in a sustainable way; we continue to do so to this day:
1996 – MilliCare begins Indoor Air Quality studies with Air Quality Science Services – demonstrating MilliCare’s positive impact on reduction of pollutants.
1998 – MilliCare joins the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).
2004 – MilliCare replaces spotter chemistries with a more environmentally responsible, equally effective product.
2007 – The MilliCare Network is officially carbon neutral globally.*
2008 – MilliCare Sponsors IFMA Foundation paper on the definitive processes for Green Maintenance.
“The Business of Green Cleaning”
At MilliCare, we support the concept of green maintenance not only on the floor where we can contribute, but throughout buildings and businesses. A holistic approach to green maintenance is a win for everyone: businesses, customers, service providers and the environment.
With that belief in mind, MilliCare is proud to be the sponsor of the 2008 IFMA Foundation Paper “The Business of Green Cleaning” Authored by Stephen Ashkin of The Ashkin Group, this document is the preeminent book on implementing a Green Cleaning program and serves at the foundation for structuring a green operation.
Choosing the proper long-term maintenance process for carpet and textiles can help facility managers bridge the gap between the mere appearance and the reality of clean. What can this mean for you? As an increasing number of companies know, this can result in happier guests, more productive employees, and a healthier bottom line.
